Dr. Graham Farquhar - Basic Sciences Presentation

The Kyoto Symposium Organization (KSO) is a California 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 2004 to organize and administer San Diego’s Kyoto Prize Symposium. The organization is dedicated to promoting education and expanding the mission of the non-profit Inamori Foundation, and the Foundation’s Kyoto Prize, in North America. Major activities of KSO include co-hosting the annual Kyoto Prize Symposium with presentations and workshops by the Kyoto Prize laureates in conjunction with UC San Diego and Point Loma Nazarene University; holding an annual benefit gala; and funding the Kyoto Scholarships, which are awarded to high-school seniors in the greater San Diego / Tijuana region who plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year university.

Kyoto Prize Symposium

The 2018 Kyoto Prize Symposium - Basic Sciences Presentation featuring Dr. Graham Farquhar will take place from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at UC San Diego's Price Center West Ballroom.
Dr. Graham Farquhar has developed process-based models of photosymthesis, enabling the prediction of the environmental responses of carbon dioxide exchange between vegetation and the atmosphere, as well as models for fractionation of the stable isotopes of carbon and oxygen during photosynthesis and transpiration.  Doing so, he has made major contributions to the advancement of environmental and climat change sciences.
