In California alone, nearly 6,000 deaths were attributed to opioid overdoses in 2021, with this number steadily increasing. To tackle this issue, Day One’s Youth Health Ambassadors, are organizing a day filled with opioid education and mental health workshops. Participants will gain valuable insights into the realities of opioids and learn strategies to prioritize mental health and well-being. Workshops are aimed at empowering attendees to navigate peer pressure, manage emotions, and foster open discussion about the issue. Additionally, staff will offer important resources for substance disorder treatment, mental health support services, and ensure all youth complete Narcan training.
