Join us for an interactive Dolby Atmos 2024 discussion with Immersive Engineer Richard Whittaker and your host, Marc A. Gallo. Together, we’ll explore his extensive Dolby Atmos work with The Who and other artists, such as Robin Trower.
Richard is widely regarded as the ‘go-to’ engineer for many heritage artists, producers, and record labels. He has produced immersive mixes for Thin Lizzy, Def Leppard, Traffic, The Kinks, KISS, and Kylie Minogue.
During this seminar, we’ll delve deep into his Atmos mixes for The Who’s double album, “Quadrophenia,” including their hit, “Love, Reign O’er Me.” Additionally, we’ll review his Atmos workflow for Robin Trower’s album, “Bridge of Sighs,” and others, comparing his approach with The Who’s “Quadrophenia.”
Furthermore, we’ll revisit his early education in ambisonics and how it relates to, and differs from, Dolby Atmos. Richard will also demonstrate how he personalized the Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) and loaded it into the Renderer to improve the binaural experience and its accuracy.
Finally, our online audience is encouraged to participate in the Q&A session at the end of the seminar.
