At a time when the world is pondering the terrifying possibility of a nuclear war with North Korea, a conversation about America's nuclear weapons program seems more relevant than ever before. On Nov. 7, join us from noon-1 p.m. ET for in-depth conversations about <A HREF="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiecixAsm8w&t=9s" TARGET="_blank" DATA-CKE-SAVED-HREF="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiecixAsm8w&t=9s" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Command and Control,</A> which chronicles a deadly accident at a missile complex in Damascus, Ark., in 1980. The film gives viewers a glimpse into the chilling truth about the management of America's nuclear arsenal.  The conversation will include a Q&A with Eric Schlosser, the author of the book by the same name, Command and Control director Robert Kenner, Emma Belcher, director of the Nuclear Challenges program at the MacArthur Foundation, and Erika Gregory, Director of N Square, an initiative designed to stimulate innovation in nuclear disarmament, nonproliferation and safety and security. N Square is funded by MacArthur Foundation, Carnegie Corporation, Hewlett Foundation, Ploughshares Fund and the Skoll Global Threats Fund. Vince Stehle, executive director of Media Impact Funders, will lead the discussion.  We'll explore how funders can best use media to raise awareness about important issues, and the role independent filmmakers can play in fostering greater understanding of how the world's most pressing issues affect our everyday lives.
