Document Verification Awareness Workshop (March)

Document Verification Awareness Workshop (March)

Beaufort CourtLondon, England
Wednesday, Mar 25, 2026 from 1 pm to 4 pm
Overview

An interesting and interactive workshop designed for HR or hiring managers delivered by Specialist Officers.

PSO - Document Verification Awareness

We are pleased to be able to offer this free, interactive training session: “PSO – Document Verification Awareness”, developed by the National Document Fraud Unit (NDFU) and delivered by Protective Security Operations (PSO) – a specialist Counter Terrorism department within the Metropolitan Police Service.

This engaging 3-hour workshop is designed specifically for HR professionals, hiring managers, and vetting officers responsible for checking and verifying identity documents during recruitment or ongoing staff checks. It’s also extremely useful for any staff members who are routinely required to verify official documents such as passports or driving licences as part of their day to day role.

Most organisations require staff to confirm that ID documents are genuine and belong to the person presenting them - but few receive the formal training needed to do this confidently and accurately. In the event of a serious incident involving a fraudulent identity, this lack of training could significantly undermine an organisation’s ability to defend its processes.

This essential workshop covers:

  • How hostile actors and terrorists use fraudulent documents to gain employment or access services
  • Examination of genuine documents using UV torches and magnifiers
  • Identification of key security features in passports, driving licences, and national ID cards
  • Legal and procedural responsibilities during document checks
  • Strengthening your organisation’s vetting practices and internal security culture

This session is hands-on, practical, and highly engaging - empowering staff to recognise suspicious documents and protect your organisation from serious threats.

It’s encouraged that delegates bring their own Passport/ID Card/Driving Licence also, especially if they are non UK issued documents.

It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions directly to counter-terrorism experts in a relaxed, interactive environment.
