Description
The Overcast Theatre is incredbly excited to announce is upcoming production: "Do The Math", which will open our 2015 Season
Do The Math: A WORLD PREMIERE
Written By Emily Galvin
Directed and Adapted For the Stage By Megan Hardy
Do The Math explores human relationships, patterns, emotions and conditions through mathematics and poetry. This will be an interdisciplinary and experimental piece presented in a vignette style featuring acting, movement, the spoken word, live/recorded video, projections, and alternative lighting.
Looking at key themes of isolation, attemps to connect, language, and desire, this piece will feature encounters like two blue collared men pining over an attractive lady, the snapshots and fragmentation of two people who have been connected forever, pit stops in a desolate border town, and discourses on peanut butter, to name a few.
Emily Galvin has created a beautiful text with intricate but specific details that makes this piece exciting to read and even more irressitable to watch.
Director Megan Hardy strivies to work with hyperealism and fragmentaton in deisgn to create developed worlds that exist as fragments of one another that all ultimately add together and seamlessly transition from moment to moment.
