Frequently asked questions

If it rains will the Do or Dye take place?

Yes!!! Rain or shine the event will happen. The "paint" actually sticks better when you are wet so even though you may be wet....you will be more colorful!!!

Is the color safe?

The colors are made with high quality cornstarch, dyes and baking soda. All dyes are 100% FD&C and/or D&C approved. Out of an abundance of caution do not use near open flame, smoking materials or other ignition sources.

Will the colors stain?

Our color powder washes out of most clothing. However, it can stain some materials. 100% cotton clothing is recommended and typical machine washing with stain remover, removes the stains. We recommend removing excess powder from clothing before washing and/or applying water.

Does the color stain skin or hair?

Just as with clothing we recommend shaking off all excess powder before exposing to water. Normal soap & water should remove color powder from skin and hair. Some color does tend to linger for a few days especially on blonde hair.

Does color stain hair - continued

If you are worried about staining, we recommend applying a moisturizer to skin and coating your hair with a small amount of coconut or olive oil before the event and/or wear a hat.

Does the powder contain Gluten or other alergens?

Our color powder is gluten free and does not contain dairy, nuts, wheat, soy or other common allergens. Although it is made from all food safe ingredients, it is not created in a food safe facility and is not intended for human consumption.

Is Color Harmful if inhaled?

Although all the materials are food grade we do not recommend inhaling large quantities of color powder. It should always be used in well ventilated outdoor space and when throwing at participants you should aim for the chest area. W/respiratory issues should exercise caution when participating

What should I bring to the Do or Dye Color Fun Run?

Definitely a towel or trash bag to sit on in your car. Some bring wet wipes. I would definitely brush off the excess color before getting in your car.

If I don't want to get color on me what do I do?

If you do not want to have the color powder thrown on you just hold up your hands and tell them you don't want it and you can walk/run around the station.

Are dogs allowed?

We prefer no dogs but if you decide to bring yours it MUST be on a leash and you will need to pick up after them in the park and dispose of their waste.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, it but I would use extreme caution going through the color stations with a baby. There are color dust clouds all around the stations and your baby may inhale the powder that is lingering the in air.

How far is the run/walk?

2 miles
