Become a DNA detective in this fun, hands-on family workshop! Participants will investigate DNA by making a model with candy, discover how traits are passed down through generations, and extract real DNA from their own body. Explore science together through simple, approachable experiments and group sharing. Families leave with take-home activities, additional STEM resources, and a Junior DNA Detective certificate. This workshop is entertaining and interactive while being safe and simple. Best of all - no science background needed! This event is a part of the Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective’s (PSEC) 2025 STEM Equity Week.
