About this event

Join us as we gather former Dix Hospital staff and the families who lived on the hospital campus (Dix Hill) to share stories and perspectives, and explore how the Dix Park site might become a space for remembrance, reflection, connection, and healing.

Registration

Anyone who is a former Dix Hospital staff member or lived on Dix Hill, the hospital campus, is welcome to join. RSVPs using this Eventbrite are encouraged but not required.

If you are unable to attend this event but would like to contribute your thoughts, please share them at our cultural interpretation plan online engagement hub.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Your and others’ personal experiences with Dix Hospital and mental health care
  • What stories you and others would like to have remembered in the park
  • How you and others might like to experience these stories in the park
  • What types of exhibits, artworks, or natural spaces you and others might find helpful to repair harms experienced and promote healing

This conversation will be led by Brocade Studio, an interpretive planning and facilitation consultancy, who are creating a Cultural Interpretation Plan for Dix Park.

Dinner and refreshments will be provided.
