Diversity Roundtable - DCTC

The Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County (DCTC) is a joint effort of local employers and leaders dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in Tompkins County. Since its founding in 1999, the DCTC has endeavored to cultivate a continuous learning environment, promote a positive community image, and serve as a source and liaison for diversity and inclusiveness resources. Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County (DCTC)

The 2017 Diversity Roundtable event is offered by the Diversity Consortium of Tompkins  County (DCTC).  The event is a bi-annual conference intended to provide a venue for community-wide participation in learning and dialogue. We provide our community with the opportunity to learn tools and strategies to assist us in overcoming the challenges we experience in addressing diversity and inclusion to help us prepare for the next steps in creating a diverse and inclusive community in which to work, live, and learn. 
The theme for this year’s Roundtable is, “Equity and Inclusion: From Talk to Action!”  This day-long conference includes keynote presentations, morning and afternoon breakout sessions, and lunch. Our keynote presenters this year is Angela C. Winfield, Director of Inclusion and Workforce Diversity, Cornell University Human Resources and our lunch keynote is Karen Baer, Director, Tompkins County Office of Human Rights. The Roundtable will also host  Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble (CITE) to provide the theatre-based workshop “Your Story, My Story.”
Typically we have over 200 participants who hail from various organizations and businesses all over Tompkins County, including significant numbers from Cornell and Ithaca College. The cost for participating is:
$65/person early registration and $80/person after early deadline. Registration begins April 3rd. Early Bird registration deadline, April 21st. Regular Registration ends May 12th.

Our reasonable registration costs encourage participation from individuals and organizations who would not otherwise be able to afford to be involved.  In addition, we have a number of local and regional exhibitors, several of which represent women and diversity owned businesses in the area.

Your Story, My Story - A theatrical program that provides an opportunity for leaders, managers and employees to hear, explore and experience each other in a way that illuminates their similarities rather than their differences. Presenter: Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble.

Transgender Inclusive Policies and Practices in the Workplace - Learn about policies and best practices when it comes to transgender employees in the workplace, and supporting LGBTQ employees - and ways this benefits both the workplace and all employees.  Presenter: Luca Maurer, Founding Program Director of The Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services at Ithaca College.
