Diversity Improv Jam for BIPOC Performers & Students

Station Theater Improv Jams are for practicing improvisers. This is not a show. Jams are not open to spectators.

Station Theater Jams are an excellent opportunity to practice on stage, get in your reps, and bond with fellow performers! All experience levels are welcome - from experienced veterans to students just starting - but you should have some improv experience. All attendees should be prepared to participate. Spectators and guests are not permitted.

Hosted by the award-winning Houston improv troupe Can't Tell Us Nothing is a place for performers to connect and practice the art of improvisation. This is a closed event for BIPOC performers and students from Houston. Visiting BIPOC improvisers are also welcome.

Station Theater offers an array of specialty jams in addition to our Bi-Weekly Community Jams (1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month). Specialty Jams rotate on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Check events for dates!

Specialty Jams include:

• Diversity Jam for BIPOC performers - Hosted by Can't Tell Us Nothing
• Ma'am Jam for female and female-identifying performers - Hosted by Discharged
• Queer Improv Jam for LGBTQIA+ performers
• Retro Jam for improvisers over the age of 40 - Hosted by 80s Kids Comedy
• Musical Jam for improvised singers and musicians - Hosted by Discord & Rhyme Musical Improv

You must have a ticket to attend. Only 20 attendees will be admitted, so get your tickets now! Please email info@stationtheater.com to cancel your ticket if you are unable to attend.

REQUIREMENTS

• All participants must have a completed Releases & Acknowledgements document on file.
• Warm-up starts at 4:00pm. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the Jam starts.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• All participants must follow all policies of the Station Theater Handbook & Code of Conduct.

Located next to Toros HTX Soccer on Crockett between Taylor and Hemphill Streets.

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION: There is ample street parking available along Crockett, Hemphill, Summer, and Taylor Streets. Make sure to check street signs for parking availability. Please do not park in the lot in front of Toros HTX unless they are closed. Please be mindful when parking in front of area homes, as some driveways are difficult to see. The #30 bus stops at Sawyer St and Shearn St, which is approximately a 2-minute walk. See attached photo of our building for reference.
