About this event

This multi-stage project, with public activations culminating in an immersive performance Aug. 24, 26 and 27, centers on a deep collaboration with Dr. Neil Chapman, a celebrated photographer, retired professor, and gifted guitarist, who is now experiencing the effects of Parkinson’s Disease as a direct result of exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

But his story doesn't end there - Chapman is among 272,883+ other veterans mired in the VA’s notorious backlog of claims, unable to receive either the recognition nor compensation afforded to other veterans in similar circumstances.

Mixing morse code, stunning photography, advocacy, music, dance, theater and visual art, DITTY BOPS | THE ART OF LISTENING is an opportunity for our community to open our ears and hearts to Chapman, and to listen and advocate with compassion and determination for all of our Veterans.
