Distributed Systems Engineering Workshop

Spadinalaan 664Amsterdam, NH
Tuesday, June 2  •  10 AM - 12 PM
Overview

Hands-on workshop on building scalable distributed systems with microservices, Kafka, and Kubernetes by Alex Green.

Join Alex Green, a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience building distributed systems at scale, for an immersive hands-on workshop on distributed systems engineering.\n\nWhat You'll Learn:\n- Microservices architecture: Design patterns, service decomposition, and inter-service communication\n- Apache Kafka: Event-driven architectures, stream processing, and real-time data pipelines\n- Kubernetes: Container orchestration, deployment strategies, and cluster management\n- System reliability: Fault tolerance, circuit breakers, and observability in distributed environments\n\nThis workshop is designed for intermediate-to-advanced developers who want to deepen their understanding of building resilient, scalable distributed systems. You'll work through practical exercises deploying microservices on Kubernetes, setting up Kafka pipelines, and implementing reliability patterns.\n\nPrerequisites: Basic familiarity with Docker, Linux command line, and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Go preferred).
