Agoric empowers individuals to securely execute transactions, establish new markets, and craft novel patterns of exchange — without centralized control. Founded in early 2018 by pioneers of smart contracts and market-based, distributed computation, Agoric is building a new framework to enable millions of Javascript developers to safely build and deploy secure smart contracts.Building on 30 years of experience, Agoric is developing a secure distributed ocap platform for smart contracts and market-oriented programming. The platform supports the development of smart contracts and market institutions across many different scales, from large public blockchains to small two-party contracts.

Miller will present an overview of the Agoric platform, with tools for secure interaction at each level:<ul><li>CapTP (Capability Transport Protocol) provides a uniform, secure, execution model across multiple blockchains. </li></ul><ul><li>SES (Secure EcmaScript) provides a confined execution environment for third party JavaScript.</li></ul><ul><li>Jessie is a tiny subset of JavaScript designed for writing security-enforcing code including smart contracts, and for safe mobile code.</li></ul><ul><li>ERTP (The Electronic Rights Transfer Protocol) is an expressive composable framework for ownership, transfer, and exercise of erights. </li></ul>Using Filecoin (http://filecoin.io/) as an example, Henri Stern will explore how Proof-of-Stake consensus protocols can make use of underlying resource systems not only to improve their security, but also to offer protocol-designers the ability to tune some of their properties.
