Dissolving Localities

Between the Seas' mission is to promote contemporary dance, theater and music by Mediterranean artists in the Mediterranean, North America and beyond. In 2019, Between the Seas started operating from its own home, 1927 art space, in downtown Athens: a space for laboratory work and open process, research, performance, and visual arts.

Between the Seas: Mediterranean Performance Lab

To <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/Dissolving-Localities-242982135806286/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dissolving Localities</A> είναι μια οπτικοακουστική πλατφόρμα που συνδέει το αστικό τοπίο με την performance. Οι video & sound artists <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/emmanuel.witzthum" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Emmanuel Witzthum</A>, Thomas Koner, Arik Futterman και Ελένη Ζερβού, σε διάρκεια μίας εβδομάδας θα συλλέξουν εικόνες και ήχους της Αθήνας, τους οποίους στη συνέχεια θα μιξάρουν ζωντανά επι σκηνής σε μια οπτικοακουστική περφόρμανς στην <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/asfa.ath/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ανωτάτη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών</A> προσφέροντας στους κατοίκους, αλλα και στους ίδιους τους καλλιτέχνες, μια καινούρια οπτική της πόλης. Το <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/Dissolving-Localities-242982135806286/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dissolving Localities</A> ξεκίνησε από την Ιερουσαλήμ όπου μία διεθνής ομάδα καλλιτεχνών συνεργάστηκαν για τη συλλογή οπτικοακουστικού υλικού από την πόλη το οποίο στη συνέχεια παρουσιάστηκε ως performance με ζωντανό video και sound mixing. Το αρχικό πρότζεκτ εξελίχθηκε, συνδέοντας μέσα από την ίδια μεθοδολογία την Ιερουσαλήμ με άλλες πόλεις. Μεταξύ άλλων έχει παρουσιαστεί στη Μαδρίτη, το Παρίσι, την Κρακοβία, το Λος Άντζελες κα. Στην Αθήνα το <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/Dissolving-Localities-242982135806286/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dissolving Localities</A> πραγματοποιείται με την υποστήριξη του Οργανισμού ΝΕΟΝ και της Πρεσβείας του Ισραήλ.
