About this event

  • 1 day 8 hours

The Racial Equity Institute's Phase 1 training helps participants understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. This is a 2-day event from 9am - 5pm daily.

It examines narratives around racial disproportionality and uses compelling evidence to illustrate the systemic nature of racism. Before addressing racial inequity, it is important to understand what institutional racism looks like and the harmful impact it wields on our nation’s people, economy and social institutions. Following REI’s "Groundwater Approach," participants should leave with a clearer understanding of how systems are producing inequitable outcomes and better equipped to work for change.

This is a participatory workshop. Talbot Family Network is providing this opportunity at no cost to people who live or work in Talbot County. Registrants are expected to attend both days from 9am-5pm and be ready to engage in learning. Filming or recording of these sessions by participants is not permitted. By registering for this event, you agree to follow Talbot Family Network's Workshop Ground Rules and Norms.
