About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Information, misinformation, and disinformation spread with equal speed.

Join us on May 20, when Jamie and Farrell Vaughn will clarify the nature of misinformation and disinformation. Using materials from Truth Brigade’s best practices, they will also discuss effective communication techniques to help us unwind the psychological, social, and political harms disinformation continues to cause.

These practical tools will help us engage with compassion, integrity, and evidence-based reasoning in conversations about misleading information.

The news landscape is increasingly fragmented, with information often confined to isolated silos. This lack of shared understanding creates fertile ground for misinformation to spread, further deepening divisions in relationships and society.

To help address this, we’re offering monthly forums where we can learn from people with lived experience and experts on complex topics. We’ll then discuss these issues in a relaxed and welcoming setting, where we’ll share food and drink and participate in respectful discussions. We can also raise money for related non-profit organizations while we’re at it.

We meet at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.

There is no charge, though we encourage you to support our host location by buying food and drinks.
