Mark your calendar for dsm’s new “Festival of Festivals,” this year’s dsm Discover Diverse Des Moines event — a fun sampler of festivals that enliven Central Iowa throughout the year. Come taste new flavors, dance to diverse beats and even learn a few words in a new language.

For the last decade or so, the city’s immigrant population has been among the fastest growing in the country. The number of foreign-born residents in the metro increased from about 40,000 in 2010 to more than 60,000 a decade later, according to the think tank Heartland Forward.

Greater Des Moines benefits from newcomers and lifelong Iowans alike, and dsm is proud to share their stories, perspectives and contributions to the place we all call home.

Accordingly, the Festival of Festivals features food, live music and interactive stations with cultural activities led by representatives from an array of local festivals – all designed to introduce you to Des Moines’ rich, diverse communities and cultures.
