Target Audience:

  • Acute care physicians and registered nurses (i.e., surgeons; anesthesiologists; emergency medicine physicians; emergency room, operating room, intensive care unit, and trauma nurses.)
  • EMS (Pre-hospital)
  • Other health care providers, administrators, public health personnel, and emergency managers are also encouraged to attend.

Purpose/Outcome: Upon completion of the activity, healthcare professionals will be able to discuss the core competencies as outlined by the ACS COT Disaster and Mass Casualty Management Committee to increase their ability to plan, triage, utilize incident command based on injury patterns and pathophysiology, and consideration for special populations.

CME Credit

The American College of Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CNE Credit

BorderRAC is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. BorderRAC awards 7.5 contact hours for this education activity.

EMS Credit

BorderRAC is recognized as a Texas Department of State Health Services provider of continuing education for EMS (Program Number 101792). BorderRAC designates this activity for 7.5 hours of continuing education.

In order to receive credit and certificate of successful completion for the program, you must arrive on time, sign-in on the attendance form, remain for the entire program, and complete an on-line evaluation.
