Braver Angels Alliance of Central NC is teaming up with Ted Wetzel’s Fighting to Understand.
We are launching an exciting new event format called Dinner and a Fight. What is Dinner and a Fight? Is it a fight? No! It’s an in-person, interactive event that gets Reds, Blues, Independents and Others engaged in productive civil disagreement.
Our in-person event will take place on Wednesday, October 18 from 6-9PM at Sertoma Arts Center in Raleigh, NC. A catered dinner will be served (with meat and vegetarian options) and is included in the $25 ticket price.
You will meet new people, get to know them, and enjoy dinner together.
Then you will discuss a divisive political issue in a powerful new way that will teach you how to talk through differences. The facilitator will be Ted Wetzel, founder of Fighting to Understand.
We will discuss a current, controversial topic using the 5-Chair method. No planned speeches, just honest opinions. The topic will be announced at the event. Possible topics include policing, DEI, K-12 education, immigration, etc.
There is no homework before arrival, except an optional 10-min introductory video. Your first instruction upon arrival will be to sit with 4 other people that you don't know.
This is a great event to invite a friend, neighbor or family member of a different political leaning. You'll have dinner separately but can sit together for the discussion.
