About Java Coding Bootcamp

Java Coding Bootcamp teaches the Java programming language using Processing 2.0. Complete fun projects throughout the week, including developing games, and get a taste for real-world programming in a fun learning environment. No previous programming experience required – just a love for computers and coding! The curriculum is customized for beginner to intermediate learners entering grades. The final day of bootcamp features an opportunity for participants to present their projects.

• July 16-20, 2018 (M-F): 9:00am-3:30pm (full-day camp)

Registration Guidelines:

• Age Group: 14 to 18 years (co-ed)
• Applicants who have never attended this bootcamp before
• Registration Deadline: July 1, 2018

Meals/Snacks:

• Snacks provided
• Parents must send children with brown bag lunch
• Pizza lunch provided on last day of camp

Camp Details

Camp Fees and Payment: We have instituted a "pay what you can" policy for our Dig'nIT summer camps. We understand financial hardship and believe no child should be denied a great summer experience because of it. While completing Eventbrite registration, enter whatever amount you feel is fair for your financial position. Suggested value of our camps is $125 for full-day/week-long or $75 for half-day/week-long; but if you cannot afford some or all of registration this year, we understand. No need to explain.

Registration Guidelines: Registration is competitive and first-come, first-served. Registration will close on July 1, 2018. If you are paying by check or cash, payment is due to the Coeur d'Alene Harbor Center no later than the registration deadline, and can be mailed or delivered to: University of Idaho CDA, c/o Java Coding Bootcamp, 1031 N. Academic Way, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.

Campers are committing to attend the full length of the camp. If your camper cannot attend one or more days, we suggest attending next year as the camp experience is reliant on full-time attendance. If for some reason the registered camper won't be able to attend the camp, please notify UICDA as soon as possible so that we may admit a waitlisted camper. Refunds cannot be processed after the registration deadline.

Parents: Plan for yourself or a proxy to check your camper in or out each day of camp unless the student is old enough to drive (please indicate on the registration page). Campers can be checked in no earlier than 30 minutes before camp and checked out no later than 30 minutes after camp.

This waiver must be received by UICDA no later than 5:00pm on the Friday before first day of camp.

Meals and snacks: At this time, we cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. If the attendee has an allergy that prevents them from eating snacks provided, please be sure they attend with a snack in addition to their lunch. Snack options will consist of: string cheese, fruit, or granola bar. Please make sure the attendee knows what they can or cannot consume as we cannot guarantee non-exposure to allergens.

Special Accommodations: If the attendee has special needs and requires a special needs accommodation, please email Juli Anderson at julianaa@uidaho.edu detailing their needs before the camp so we may discuss.

Behavior Guidelines: University of Idaho Coeur d'Alene's Dig'nIT summer camps have a strict no-tolerance policy with regard to bullying or disruptive behavior. If bullying or behavioral issues occur, the instigator's parent/guardian will be contacted immediately for pick up.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You DO NOT have to bring a printed confirmation with you to camp. Save a tree!

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

No. If the attendee is suddenly not able to attend, notify us as soon as possible so we may contact a waitlisted registrant.

What's the refund policy?

Refunds can be issued up to the registration deadline. Contact Juli Anderson at julianaa@uidaho.edu for more information should you need a refund. Refunds cannot be processed after the registration deadline.

Does my child really need to sign the waiver I was asked to fill out?

YES. Both parent and child need to sign. There is a space for the participant to print and sign their name.
