This practical workshop provides key insights into how disabled volunteers access and use digital technologies and equips participants with the skills and knowledge to improve digital accessibility and inclusion for disabled volunteers. This event is organised in a collaboration with the University of Greenwich, HEAR Equality and Human Rights Network and Kim Donahue Consulting.
The purpose of the workshop is to share findings and guidance from the recent Digitvol research project around how disabled adults access and use digital technologies, and how their digital inclusion or exclusion affect their participation in both online and offline voluntary work. The workshop includes practical and interactive sessions that will equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance digital accessibility and inclusion for volunteers.
This workshop is for volunteer-involving organisations, volunteer managers, volunteer centres, funders and anyone who supports volunteers.
The event will start with a networking lunch followed by a summary of the Digitvol research and digital guidelines, case studies and a practice-based discussion in small groups.
