The Idaho Museum  of Mining and Geology is booking events online.  Walk-ins to the Museum are always welcome. General admission is free.The IMMG is  open Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5pm and Sundays from 12:30 to 3:30pm.  The Museum offers events on weekends by pre-registration only. Crack your own geode and see the magic inside!

Let's Dig into Geodes and see what's inside! Wow!Join us at the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology, next to the Old Pen, for a fun morning of geode-cracking, a short and easy geo-hike on the nearby hillside and a museum visitation. Geode-cracking takes place from 10am-1pm outside under shade canopies on the grass of the historic Women’s Ward. A 40-minute hillside geology hike is scheduled for 11am and for 12 Noon.Admission:Adult Non-members of the IMMG—$4Children —$4All children over age 3 years (members and nonmembers)receive one small geode freeAdult IMMG Members &amp; their children—Free AdmissionAll adults (members too) who wish to crack a geode, and children who would like a second geode, will need to pay the recommended donation at the site. If you have never cracked open a geode with a giant pipe-cutter, you are in for an exciting moment. What Mother Nature has created is truly amazing.Please register at your preferred time. There are 6 time slots. Contact operations@idahomuseum.org if you have questions, or would like to discuss bringing a scout, school or other group.Delicious hotdogs will be on sale by Updog Street Food beginning at 10 AM. This event is supported by a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council!
