Celebrating newly published poetry collections, authors Diana Khoi Nguyen (Root Fracstures, 2024), Cindy Juyoung Ok (Root Toward, 2024), and Taneum Bambrick (Intimacies, Received, 2022) will be reading from their latest works at Beyond Baroque! Book signings will follow the readings.

About the authors


A poet and multimedia artist, Diana Khoi Nguyen is the author of Ghost Of (2018) which was a finalist for the National Book Award, and Root Fractures (2024). Her video work has recently been exhibited at the Miller Institute for Contemporary Art. Nguyen is a Kundiman fellow and member of the Vietnamese artist collective, She Who Has No Master(s). A recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and winner of the 92Y Discovery Poetry Contest and 2019 Kate Tufts Discovery Award, she currently teaches in the Randolph College Low-Residency MFA and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh.


Cindy Juyoung Ok is the author of Ward Toward from the Yale Series of Younger Poets and the translator of The Hell of That Star form Korean. She is a former high school science teacher and incoming assistant English professor.


Taneum Bambrick is the author of Intimacies, Received (Copper Canyon Press 2022), and Vantage (American Poetry Review/Honickman First Book Award 2019). Their work can be found in the New Yorker, The Nation, American Poetry Review, and their essay “Sturgeon” was selected for the 2017 BOOTH Nonfiction Prize. She lives in Los Angeles and is a Dornsife Fellow at the University of Southern California where she studies poetry and nonfiction. She is currently working on a memoir.
