Talea celebrates the 100th birthday of French composer Pierre Boulez with Dialogues &amp; Notations on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of St. Luke &amp; St. Matthew. The program places Boulez’s Dialogue de l’ombre double and Douze Notations in conversation with works by composers Carol Szymanski, John Cage, and Alyssa Regent. Pierre Boulez: Twelve Notations for Solo PianoAlyssa Regent: Fortis Meam for Cello and ElectronicsJohn Cage: Ryoanji for Oboe and PercussionCarol Szymanski: Baudelaire (the fall: recirculation, Movement 1) for Trumpet and ElectronicsPierre Boulez: Dialogue de l’ombre double for Bassoon and Electronics *updated 1/21: We will not perform Maryanne Amacher's Adjacencies, as inclement weather has prevented a performer from traveling to New York City. We hope to present this piece to you in a future concert.
