Join Sophia Center for a comprehensive four-day Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Foundational Training for clinicians and professionals working with youth, adults, and families. The live virtual training will be held on four consecutive FridaysApril 17, April 24, May 1, and May 8—from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This live, interactive virtual training provides a strong foundation in DBT theory, structure, and core skills, with an emphasis on practical application, fidelity, and real-world clinical use. Participants will gain confidence in conceptualizing cases through a DBT lens and applying skills to support emotion regulation, crisis management, and behavior change.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the core theory and principles of DBT
  • Develop DBT-informed treatment plans and case conceptualizations
  • Apply DBT strategies for emotion, behavior, and crisis management
  • Understand the difference between DBT-informed and adherent DBT
  • Promote fidelity in DBT delivery to support better client outcomes
  • Understand and apply the four DBT skills modules:
  1. Mindfulness
  2. Distress Tolerance
  3. Emotion Regulation
  4. Interpersonal Effectiveness

About The Trainer

Dylan Zambrano, MSW, RSW
Founder and Clinical Director of DBT Virtual

Dylan has extensive experience implementing DBT in outpatient and hospital-based settings and provides training, consultation, and supervision to clinicians and DBT teams. He is the author of The DBT Skills Daily Journal (New Harbinger Publications) and has completed advanced training in DBT, mindfulness-based approaches, CBT, MBSR, trauma-focused therapies, and DBT-Prolonged Exposure.

Early Registration Rate: $200

Standard Rate: $250

Group Rate: $200 per person

Deposit:

  • $50 deposit required at registration via Eventbrite.The $50 deposit becomes non‑refundable once minimum enrollment is achieved
  • Remaining balance invoiced by Sophia Center to the participant or employer

Thanks to grant funding through Sophia Center’s Helping Families Program, supported by CommonSpirit Health’s Mission and Ministry Fund, this training is being offered at a substantially reduced rate to expand access to DBT-informed care in our community.

Supervision & Ceu Notes

  • Ceu's are only approved under the Ohio CSWMFT Board
  • This training provides the 24-CEU foundational coursework in DBT
  • Ongoing DBT supervision is reccommended and must be arranged separately
  • Optional consultation/superevision opportunities and associated costs with the trainer are possible and will be shared once finalized
