TALK is hosting a DHS Cyber Resilience  Workshop  on Nov. 13th led Klint Walker and his team.

Klint is the Cyber Security Advisor of Region IV for the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C),

National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD).  This event is for cybersecurity and IT professionals doing work in security for companies, small businesses, and organizations. It's time to look at how you manage cyber security of significant information services and assets (information, technology, facilities, and personnel).

What is a Cyber Resilience Review (CRR)?

•Examines cybersecurity practices in critical infrastructure organizations

•Evaluates the resilience of critical services

•Utilizes the goals and practices found in the CERT Resilience

Management Model (CERT-RMM)

•Is completely voluntary and protected by PCII

•Is a one-day expert-facilitated workshop (typically 6 hours)

•Provides participants with a detailed report containing suggestions for

improvement

Bring your laptop, and your questions.  At this event, you will:

--Identify your cybersecurity posture

--Develop a shared cyber resilience vision and roadmap

--Learn where to get help and information about cyber resilience

  --Communicate using a common language

--Prioritize options and support decision making

--Measure your progress in improving cyber resilience

            --Prepare for and facilitate change

Handouts and key workshop items will be available for this process.

Statistics from the US Midwest collected by Carnegie Mellon University show that:

More than 70% of organizations identify critical services; however, less than 50% of organizations assessed have identified the assets that support critical services.  More than 55% of organizations have not developed a strategy to guide their vulnerability management efforts.  65% of organizations lack a process to escalate and resolve incidents.

A $30 fee charged will supply you with AM coffee, and lunch with a soft drink.
