"DEVELOPMENT, NOT DISPLACEMENT", an anti-gentrification panel hosted by  NOMASiit; ft. Maurice Cox, Monica Chadha, Jason Pugh, Juan Moreno.

The event is a panel &amp; round table discussion on anti-gentrification architecture featuring a panel comprised of:

MAURICE COX: Commissioner of Chicago Department of Planning &amp; Development
MONICA CHADHA: Founder &amp; Principal of Civic Projects
JASON PUGH: Global Director of DE&I + Principal at Gensler, and Past NOMA President
JUAN MORENO: Founder &amp; President of JGMA

The driving idea behind the event is to have these architecture and urban planning professionals discuss their works in underserved communities. Then, through discussion with the audience &amp; moderated by our student executive board, attendees will be able to engage with the speakers to ask questions on anti-gentrification tactics, practices, etc. in a hands-on manner outside of the classroom. We want students and professionals alike to walk away with a higher, more applied knowledge of how architecture, planning and policy can still be used to revitalize underserved communities without displacing or discounting its inhabitants.
