In an era of unprecedented communication flow, how can we move from commentary to conversation?  
What can machine learning and artificial intelligence offer governments, political movements, and organizations that rely on consensus in order to thrive?
In 2016, Pol.is joined with the Government of Taiwan to implement a new, cutting edge appoach to participatory democracy.  The result?  A six-year long legislative struggle resolved in less than five months, informed by large-scale, transparent civic participation.  Now, governments and civic technology organizations across the world are seeking to incorporate this open source platform into their own democratic processes.  
Please join us this Thursday for a discussion with Colin Megill, Co-Founder and CEO of Pol.is.  Among other topics, we'll examine how machine learning offers new possibilities for spotting consensus and divergance, the tricks he and his team have learned to galvanize participation and civility at the same time, and how Pol.is is succesfully navigating the marketplace while maintaining an open source platform.
