About this event

The "Designing Hope: Engineering Solutions to Cancer" symposium will be held on November 3rd, 2023, sponsored by the UC San Diego Shu Chien-Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering, the Center for Engineering Cancer at the IEM, and Moores Cancer Center.

Presenters will give 5-10 minute talks and posters that fit with the focus of this symposium:

1) "Unresolved problems" that may benefit from a bioengineering perspective, or

2) "New technologies" that might have a translational application to cancer research.

This will be a great opportunity to share research with faculty and trainees from both the Jacobs School of Engineering and the Moores Cancer Center with the goal of using the strengths of our programs to create collaborations leading to progress in ending cancer as we know it. The intent is to foster problem-solving, form inter-programmatic collaborations, and create "white papers" to advocate for future approaches to cancer prevention, diagnostics, and therapies.
