Designing for Hackathon Success

Hack the Patriarchy was created by Kali Williams, an entrepreneur and professional speaker. After attending a few hackathons she realized that there was still a pretty low presence of women. As a feminist and a long time advocate for women, she saw a possibility to create a space that put women at the forefront of tech while focusing on projects that could improve the lives of women around the world.

Are you a designer who wants to attend hackathons, but think they aren’t for you? Are you an engineer who wants to improve your design thinking?
This 2-hour workshop is for designers & engineers looking to attend (and win!) hackathons with better design & improved UX. We will focus on giving you a toolbox of skills and strategies to help you plan and design your project. Due to the time constraints of a hackathon (most take place in 24 to 48 hours) there’s a greater need to drill down into design basics so you can hit your idea out of the park and walk away with something great for your portfolio.
During this workshop you’ll -
