Join us for a one-day conference to hear about the latest progress in biodegradability and circularity in the chemical industry.

Join us for a one-day conference to hear about the latest advances in biodegradability and circularity in the chemical industry. The conference promises to be a great forum to hear from experts in the field, gain insights into the future of the UK chemical industry, network and build collaborations within the community.

Confirmed speakers:

Prof. Bradley Olsen, Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Towards Quantitative Structure-Property Relationships for Polymer Environmental Fate

Prof. Kylie Vincent, University of Oxford - Cleaner biocatalysis as a tool for sustainable chemical synthesis

Dr. James Wilson, Syensqo - Polymers in formulations, a SYENSQO perspective

Dr. Sarah Davidson, Croda Europe Ltd. - 100 years of turning grease to gold

Prof. Andreas Künkel, BASF - Biodegradability of polymers in liquid formulations

Prof. Steve Armes, University of Sheffield - Degradable Nanoparticles via Polymerisation-Induced Self-Assembly

Dr. Antonio Martín, ETH Zürich - Polyolefin hydrogenolysis across scales

Dr Stephen Poulston, Johnson Matthey - Sustainable processes and catalysis for the net zero transition

This event is hosted by the EPSRC Clean Future Prosperity Partnership (cleaner-futures.org/), a £8.8 million collaboration between Unilever, the University of Liverpool, and the University of Oxford, and by the Sustainable Chemicals and Materials Manufacturing Hub (schemahub.ac.uk/), a consortium of academic and industry partners aiming to deliver supply chain resilience and a sustainable manufacturing sector.

Part of the official LCR Innovation Investment Fortnight (IIF) programme, 12-23 May. LCR Innovation Investment Fortnight is an annual showcase of the distinctive approaches, world-leading assets, and £2bn investment opportunities that put the Liverpool City Region at the UK forefront of place-based innovation.
