She Talks Data brings together women and men in the Bay Area who work with data. We aspire to create a comfortable and supportive environment to drive authentic dialogue and to establish meaningful connections through small-group gatherings.

About the Speaker  
This month we are so excited to be joined by data visualization expert and Tableau <A HREF="http://www.tableau.com/ZenMasters" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Zen</A> Master <A HREF="https://www.linkedin.com/in/anyaahearn" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Anya A'Hearn</A>! Anya has been working for over 20 years in analytics, business intelligence and data visualization. She loves to apply product design methodology to develop data products based on user needs and goals, building dashboards and applications that are minimalist, beautiful, impactful and a call to action.
Anya founded a boutique "Data Viz Design" consulting company called <A HREF="http://datablick.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">DataBlick</A>. Outside of helping her clients build stellar data products, Anya volunteers for a variety of initiatives including<A HREF="http://www.tableau.com/about/blog/2016/7/help-visualizenomalaria-56784" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Visualize No Malaria</A> and of course supporting women in the data industry!

About the Event
Using Tableau dashboard examples for varying use cases and goals, this talk will focus on techniques such as adding empathy and calls to action to create engaging visualizations with impact.  We walk through a progression of visualizations from descriptive to prescriptive, and predictive and discuss the efficacy of each.
