DESIGN YOUR PERFECT SUMMER DRESS
Come to Commune on Saturday May 4th to unleash your creativity and design the summer dress of your dreams! Tickets to enter cost $20, which includes a glass of wine and a donation to the Milaya Project. [You can learn more about the Milaya Project here.]
Let your imagination run wild as you play with fabrics, colors, choose one of two styles and pick through my collection of vintage buttons to create a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your style. Then, I'll do the rest including: hand-dyeing the fabric, and adding pockets, sleeves and patches to your specifications—in short, I’ll make your dream dress.
I’m drawn to classic silhouettes with modern, playful details. Which is why I'm excited to offer another way to personalize your dress by adding a fabric patch, featuring a hand-stitched animal. Imagine a stoic elephant or a strutting peacock as an extra embellishment. Patches are embroidered by the Milaya Project, a nonprofit that partners with South Sudanese refugees to sell their hand-embroidered textiles
So come hang out on May 4th from 2-5PM at Commune (415 Classon Ave).
If you purchase a ticket and decide to order a dress, you’ll receive 10% off. Dresses start at $200 and take 4-6 weeks to make.
Hope to see you there! And, look, even if you don’t buy a dress, it’ll be a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon (and it’s for a good cause).
