A Design Thinking Workshop to solve for diversity in the technology workforce.

Impact Hub Austin

Austin is the leading city in tech, startups, and innovation. More people see Austin as a destination for new opportunities than any other place in Texas. However, those opportunities are not easily accessible to underrepresented and diverse communities. Our tech and corporate workforce suffer from homogeneity. If we don't address this issue in the next five years, Austin will be complicit to the displacement of its diverse communities. The good news is there are people working on this issue and there is a business case to encourage corporations to be more inclusive. The Austin Diversity and Inclusion Project has developed a sponsorship program and an ‘Employer Who Cares’ certification program. Every current (and future) tech professional in Austin deserves to know if their current or prospective employer values and has invested in DEI efforts. We would like to develop a value prop for employers that makes these programs enticing. This may include modifying the existing programs and/or their benefits.Facilitated by Jenn, “Houli” Houlihan with Design Jam and General Assembly. Food and drinks will be provided.
