This program is provided free of charge to all that register to attend.

Do I have to register in advance?

Advance registration is encouraged. There are a limited number of tickets available for this program, which will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis through registration. If any remaining tickets are available the evening of the event, walk-in registrations will be welcomed.

What if I registered and can no longer attend the program?

If you registered for the program and will no longer able to attend, we would appreciate you contacting us at uihealthcare-communityrelations@uiowa.edu so we can open up a seat for others to attend.

Will food be provided at the program?

Light dinner will be provided to guests between 5:15-5:55 p.m. at the event.

What are the optional activities?

University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine students who are completing clinical rotations in Des Moines will have a couple activities for guests to engage in at tables in the lobby between 5:15-5:55 p.m. These will include looking at human brains that have been plastinated and an AED simulation.

Mini Medical School is for anyone—you don’t need a science or medical background to participate. Whether you’re a student, teacher, caregiver, retiree, or simply someone with an interest in research and medicine, Mini Medical School is for you!  This program is ideal for individuals 16+.
