This event was supposed to be for a wedding. After calling off the engagement, the venue is being re-purposed to help survivors of domestic violence.  It is an event to inspire others to have the courage to live the life they want.  And an event to raise money to provide freedom to the men and women that cannot afford the legal help they require to be truly free.  Free from abuse.  Free from control.  Free from violence.
This event is for them. 
It is to raise money to keep children safe, to ensure that survivors live free from fear --  to rebuild, transform, and save lives. If we raise $20,000 we can secure hundreds of temporary restraining orders, scores of long-term safe custody and support orders, or months of operation for domestic violence legal clinics reaching hundreds of additional families, identifying survivors who might not otherwise seek help, and helping those at risk to identify prevention resources.
If you believe this cause is worth fighting for, then this is an event for you.
 
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THIS CAUSE AND HELP US SAVE LIVES:
(1) Purchase Tickets To Attend this Event

(3) Donate experiences to our Silent Auction.  We are looking for hotel stays, gift certificates, wine, beauty services, anything and everything that will help raise money to save lives.

Here is how the proceeds will be spent: $100 - Secures a temporary restraining order for a survivor of domestic violence $1,000 - Secures lasting safety and independence for a survivor of domestic violence and her children through a restraining order, spousal support, and safe custody $2,000 - Secures lasting safety and independence for an undocumented survivor of domestic violence and her children through a restraining order, spousal support, legal permanent residency and work authorization
