This Christian faith sponsored Depolarizing Within workshop helps us as people of faith understand how to  become active depolarizers.

Why?	Polarization is tearing our country apart. As a person of faith, how do we regard Americans on the other side of the political aisle – the 70+ million who vote differently than us.As people of faith who want to live life based on our values:<ul><li>How do we use our foundation of faith to help depolarize our nation?</li><li>How can we be active bridge builders?</li><li>How might we respond to Jesus’ challenge to be agents of reconciliation?</li></ul>W﻿orkshop Overview:	Understand how we are complicit or possibly even encourage polarization	Find tools and develop strategies to engage in political discussion with people who think like me without demonizing the other side. 	Use skills to help lessen the effects of polarization when in political conversations with “like-minded” people within my circle. 	Give people the opportunity to be involved in an ongoing, important journey of reconciliation.Christian Faith Sponsored Element for this Standard Braver Angels Workshop:For people of faith, civil discourse begins in recognizing the image of God in our conversation partner. Since we are all children of God, our approach should involve mutual respect. Respect, not agreement, is an essential key for a healthy discussion. Who Should Attend:This Christian faith sponsored version of the Depolarizing Within is for any person of faith who wants to reduce or avoid the divisiveness of political polarization within your own network and become an agent of reconciliation. The workshop follows Braver Angels standard format. The faith sponsored aspect is included with a special opening prayer, a Christian rationale for this workshop and closing in prayer. Attendance is by invitation only. Note: This event will be held via Zoom / online. When you register, you will receive a Zoom link in your registration email. You will also need to download the Participant Guide to use during the workshop. Polarization can be driven by how we talk with like-minded people about those on the other side. Too often, we stereotype, dismiss, or ridicule our fellow citizens who support the other political party, its leaders, and its policies. Time: 3 hour workshopQuestions?
