Description

Using video and case vignettes, participants will review the policies for involuntary transport and commitment of a client who presents a danger to themselves or others, as defined by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). Participants will practice steps involved in executing an order for "1013" mental health involuntary transport and "2013" substance abuse involuntary transport. Best practices in coordination of services between local law enforcement and emergency receiving, evaluation and treatment facilities will be reviewed. Ethical considerations related to executing an order, with reference to sections of the ACA, NASW & MFT Codes of Ethics will be incorporated.
