Democracy Writes!

Democracy Writes! is a free, participatory literary event. We will write together in a themed, prompt-based generative workshop. Then, the community open mic is yours! There's no pressure to share your work. Reading is completely voluntary. For that matter, there's no pressure to write -- you are more than welcome to join us as an audience member.

In these turbulent times, our need to express ourselves could not be more urgent. Writing together in a supportive and welcoming environment builds community and supports our shared national values. It also offers a way to channel our personal feelings about the state of the world and our country in this moment. Join us for Democracy Writes!, an afternoon of free expression, diversity and democracy.
