This is a 2-day event (June 20th & 21st), both days from 6PM-9PM CST.

If you are a healthcare professional or family caregiver who provides care for people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, this seminar is for you.

In this dementia care training, you will master an innovative cognitive-behavioral approach to care called the Dementia Connection Model©, created by Dr. Jennifer Stelter, clinical psychologist, dementia expert, and Johns Hopkins Press author of The Busy Caregiver's Guide to Advanced Alzheimer Disease . The model ties together three key concepts in understanding Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and how to provide the best quality of care. You will better understand the “why?” of dementia to provide a quality of life for those you care for. Then, you will exercise your brain in learning how to best implement sensory-based approaches that positively influence the emotions and memories for those living with dementia, enabling positive, productive behavior expressions and a better connection.

In this hands-on course presented by Pastor Jeanette Jordan, M.Div., CLC, DCS, DCSCT and Founder/Pastor of Journey to the Cross Ministries and the Dementia Dignified Academy, you'll learn a ton of non-pharmacological techniques and approaches that you can put in place the next day. This certification was developed Dr. Stelter.

Through the Dementia Connection Specialist (DCS) seminar, you’ll...

For the DCS portion, you'll receive:

• DCS seminar with six (6) hours of validated dementia training
• Six (6) Continuing Education (CE) hours, if needed
• DCS certification valid for two (2) years
• DCS Workbook and DCS My Toolbox (Caregiver Toolbox)
• 10% off the DCI’s Online Dementia Classroom

This seminar has been approved by the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois and meets the criteria for those who qualify and are pursuing certification as Dementia Connection Specialist (DCS).

Upon course completion, you will then be awarded the DCS valid for 2 years and can earn 6 continuing education (CE) credits through the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois by completing the CE Evaluation.

No form of videotaping nor laptops permitted in class to preserve the integrity of the training. The power point slide deck will not be provided.

If you cancel your registration and request a refund 48hrs. or more prior to the event you may receive a refund of the purchase price minus associated payment processing fees.

If you cancel your registration and request a refund less than 48hrs. to the event you may receive a 50% refund of the purchase price minus associated payment processing fees.

If you are absent without notice the day of the event you will not receive a refund or credit.

Logistics of the Day:

This is a 2-day VIRTUAL event (June 20th & 21st), both days from 6PM-9PM CST. Registration will begin at 10 minutes before the start time. You are required to have your camera on as much as possible throughout the event. Breaks will be allotted in 10-15 minute time frames. Materials will be shipped to you prior to the event date.
