About this event

Please join the Latinx Accountability Project, in partnership with the Latino Community Foundation and Hispanics in Philanthropy, on March 23rd for "Demanding Accountability for Separated Families: The Latinx Community's Fight for Justice."

This event is the third in a series of compelling virtual conversations on the Latinx community’s ongoing fight for representation in the media, power and accountability.

In Demanding Accountability for Separated Families, Latinx leaders in media, politics, advocacy and academia will discuss the community’s broader role in holding accountable those responsible for harmful family separation policies under the Trump administration. How do we hold decision makers in the Trump administration accountable for the cruel and inhumane “zero tolerance” policy? How do we prevent something like this from ever happening again?

The conversation will be moderated by Alvaro Bedoya, Founding Director of the Center on Privacy & Technology at Georgetown Law, and feature:

  • Congresswoman Veronica Escobar
  • Maria Elena Salinas, Independent Journalist, Contributor CBS News
  • Erika Andiola, Chief Advocacy Officer for RAICES
  • Jess Morales Rocketto, Co-chair of Families Belong Together

We hope you will join us for this important and timely conversation.

Thank you to our host committee:

Vanessa Aramayo, Efrain Escobedo, Alfred Fraijo, Brad Garcia, Roberto Gonzalez, Delia Ibarra & Ivan Zapien
