DEI Workshop: Having Difficult Conversations About Race

A 3-part DEI Workshop series which focuses on fundamental anti-racism concepts and communication skills.

Sometimes you know it&#x27;s going to happen and sometimes it just sneaks up on you. You&#x27;re just going about your day and BAM! someone makes a comment or snide remark and you have the choice to let it go or engage in a difficult conversation. In this workshop, participants will learn techniques to navigate those moments and how engage in difficult conversation topics while remaining assertive, empathetic and calm. Through games, role-playing and observation, participants will practice these conversation techniques and develop a personalized communication plan to take with them through their everyday lives.Each session is 90 min long and will cover different topics so you attend these sessions independently or all together.The dates for each session are as follows:Breaking Through the Noise - Jan. 15, 2022, 2:00pm EST/11:00 am PSTEmpathetic Listening - Jan. 16, 2022, 2:00 pm EST/11:00 am PSTConfrontation and Debates - Jan. 17, 2022, 2:00 pm EST/11:00 am PSTSuggested Donation - $25 per classPayments can be made via paypal at http://paypal.me/ljsolidarity or via cashapp at $leticiamonet
