About this event

Some of you may have attended the virtual tour that the DEI committee organized during COVID of the Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University. We are fortunate that the Grand Rapids Public Museum is currently playing host to a traveling exhibit from that museum.

Join the DEI committee for a free tour of the Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University’s traveling exhibit Overcoming Hateful Things: Stories from the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Imagery. The exhibit will cultivate understanding and empathy for victims of racial intolerance throughout history to the modern day. The tour will be followed by a discussion and happy hour. Appetizers, beer, wine, and soda will be provided. Admission and parking will be paid for by the Committee.

If you have any questions, please contact Katherine Roye @ katherineroye1@gmail.com or Eunice Lopez-Martin @ elopez@steelcase.com.

The Rotary Club of Grand Rapids is the second oldest Rotary club in Michigan, and founded as the 77th International club on March 29, 1913.  Our club exemplifies the “Service Above Self” motto as our members undertake projects to feed the hungry, provide clean safe water to those in developing countries, assist with disease prevention and treatment, assist people with disabilities and elderly, work with young people, combat illiteracy, fund scholarships, provide disaster relief and recognize community leadership. We strive to make a positive impact in our community, country and internationally. The Rotary Club of Grand Rapids Rotary meets weekly at 12:00pm at the University Club.
