About this event

  • 3 hours

Capital Region Water will offer members of the general public a rare glimpse at Harrisburg’s fiercely guarded drinking water source, the DeHart Dam and Reservoir.

On Saturday, June 8, CRW will host its annual DeHart Day event, which is intended to help protect and celebrate the pristine water source. The event will include an optional litter cleanup at 9:30 a.m., as well as two facility tours, one at 11 a.m. or one at 12:45 p.m. Participants should select only one tour time. Those who want to participate in the litter cleanup should select the morning tour option and must select the "Litter Cleanup Participation" ticket add-on when registering.

As in past years, this event will be walking-intensive, requiring full mobility. Please also keep in mind that the litter cleanup will take place along a busy, rural state roadway adjacent to the DeHart Property. Tourgoers must be at least 10 years old, and litter cleanup participants must be at least 12 years old. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or authorized legal guardian.

The DeHart property is located about 25 miles northeast of Harrisburg in rural Rush Township, Dauphin County. Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the site.

Litter cleanup supplies will be provided by CRW. Lunch also will be provided to both tour groups, after the completion of the morning tour and just ahead of the afternoon tour.

Registration, including the completion of a liability waiver, is required to attend this event.

In the case of inclement weather, the tour will be postponed to the following day, Sunday, June 9.

Please contact CRW with any questions at 888-510-0606.
