Defiende La Verdad Summit for Latino Media Professionals

NALEO Educational Fund is convening a summit for Latino media professionals to share their expertise and experiences with Misinformation, Disinformation, and Malinformation (MDM). This convening will provide a forum to address and learn more about emerging topics on this issue, including the advent and evolution of Artificial Intelligence, and best practices to counter the spread of MDM narratives that erode Latinos’ trust in elections administration processes and diminish the community’s political strength.

This event is part of NALEO Educational Fund’s Defiende La Verdad (Defend the Truth) campaign, which was designed to counter the spread of MDM narratives targeting Latinos. Consistent with the organization’s nonpartisan approach, the campaign’s efforts focus on identifying, tracking, and inoculating against MDM narratives that seek to erode the community’s trust in election administration processes. In 2022, NALEO Educational Fund launched the Defiende La Verdad (Defend the Truth) campaign to counter the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation (MDM) efforts targeting Latinos.
