Tune in for a discussion with our decarbonization study committee and climate justice experts on how to achieve a just transition.

As the United States embarks on a path towards net-zero carbon emissions, it is critical to ensure that new decarbonization policies promote a fair and equitable transition. <a href="http://nap.edu/decarbonization" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Accelerating Decarbonization of the U.S. Energy System</a>, a new report from the National Academies, outlines critical near-term policies needed for the decarbonization effort with a focus on ways to support communities that will be most impacted.As part of input gathering for the study&#x27;s next report, committee members will meet with experts on climate justice and equity to discuss the recommendations from the first report and how future work can best support a just transition. We invite you to tune in for one or both of these discussions on Wednesday, July 14 from 3-4:30pm ET and Thursday, July 15 from 1-2:30pm ET. Please Note: Each meeting will include a different group of invited experts, so while the initial briefing will remain the same on each day, the subsequent discussions will be different.
