Come join us for a collaborative session where we will be identifying and transcribing racially restrictive covenants on home deeds in Washtenaw County.
During the session, we will be working together to build a database and map for affected properties all over the County, helping us better reckon with our complete history.
No experience is necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to help make a difference in our community!
This event is a partnership between Ann Arbor Housing For All and FutureRoot.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to contribute to a great cause and connect with like-minded individuals. See you there!
Nope! This work session is open to all volunteers.
The link for the zoom will be emailed to folks who register. If you'd like to participate but haven't registered or don't want to, please email the organizers directly for the zoom link.
A racially restrictive covenant is part of a home’s deed that prohibits people of certain races from buying and occupying property. Please see www.justiceindeedmi.org for more covenant-related questions!
A computer or tablet, a web browser, and an internet connection. That's it!
The transcription is best done on laptop or tablet; the transcription interface does not work well on mobile.
