Decrypting a Defense: Release the Data” will bring together digital forensics experts and legal practitioners to present on important surveillance and technology issues in criminal cases and investigations.

The use of technology by police, prosecutors, and the defense continues to expand. Digital evidence is prevalent and routine, even in cases with low level charges. However, both the technology and the legal issues change at a rapid pace. Every innovation brings new challenges for attorneys and experts. Sources and reliability of location data continue to evolve. Authenticity and legitimacy of electronic evidence are increasingly being called into question. There is an ever-growing need for not only more data, but for better ways of analyzing and using it.
