This class teaches you an EXTENSIVE variety of fun, generally easy decorative techniques to enhance calligraphy/art projects!

Decorated Letter 1 was such a hit with all of its fun decorative approaches to dress up calligraphy projects that the students demanded another class like it, with all-new techniques
...and here it is!
In this class we will cover a WIDE variety of decorative techniques, including
- Blind embossing
- Acanthus leaves
- Gothic/Romanesque/Renaissance decorative styles for capitals and borders
- Diaper patterns (nothing to do with babies!)
The Decorated Letter 1, Decorated Letter 2, and Decorated Letter 3 workshops are all what could be called "taste-testing" courses.
These workshops offer you an opportunity to try out each artistic technique for a week or so at a relatively easy level, and then move on to a new technique.
If you like the technique of the week, you can then go on and study it in greater depth later, at your leisure.
If the technique isn't to your taste, you don't have to spend any more time on it.
You may begin with ANY of the three Decorated Letter courses; they are independent and do NOT have to be taken in order.
Only minimal calligraphy experience is required!
The techniques have a wider application than just calligraphy(painted borders, for example), and include both traditional and contemporary approaches.
All of the photos accompanying this listing are of homework projects created by students in this class.
WHO: This class is designed for adults and mature adolescents.
PREREQUISITE:
- Any in-depth calligraphy class
- The equivalent in independent study
- OR a strong art background.
- NOTE: Decorated Letter 1 is NOT a prerequisite for this class.
WHERE: Online via Zoom.
